James R. Demers, 84, passed away October 9, 2018 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Karen (Nielsen) Demers and the late Inez (Anderson) Demers. Born March 21, 1934 in Dedham, MA he was the son of the late Elmer and Kathleen (Griffin) Demers.

James was educated in Dedham Schools and lived in Wisconsin, East Bridgewater, MA and most recently in Carver, MA. He served in the U.S. Air force during the Korean Conflict as a Aircraft Mechanic. Earlier while in Wisconsin he worked with disabled children and then retiring from Shaws Warehouse after 21 years of service where he was a mechanic.

James loved his Boxer dogs, plants, trees, gardening, hunting, fishing, country music, working on cars and helping others. But most of all he was a hard worker and pushed his six daughters to be the same. He was also know as “Wisconsin Willie” by his friends.

He is survived by 6 daughters Teresa Dineen, Julie Allen and her husband Ricky, Lori Godfrey, Kelly DeVincent, Kathy Miller and her husband Steve and Joy Lydon and her husband Nick; a step daughter Melody Lauzon; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren a sister Jean Russell and her husband Fred; a sister in law Carolyn Demers and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Kristy Lee Demers and the brother of the late John Demers. Visitation will take place on Monday October 15, 2018 from 10 – 12 Noon with a service to follow at 12 Noon in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville, MA.

Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater, MA.
