Jane B. (Kapinos) Kurpaska, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center, with her loving family at her side. Born October 23, 1926, daughter of the late John and Mary (Ciepiel) Kapinos, she was a lifelong Chicopee resident and a graduate of Chicopee High School. Jane was a devoted communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr, and actively served her parish as a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Rosary Society.

She treasured her smaller group of friends from the St. Vincent “17 Club”, and spent many hours weekly as a pierogi maker and bingo worker. Jane was predeceased in 2001 by her beloved husband, Michael S. Kurpaska, and is survived by her loving children, Michaeline Gureckis and husband Glen of Ludlow, and Lawrence J. Kurpaska and wife Susan of Chicopee; cherished grandchildren, Amanda Gureckis, Katelyn Kurpaska and Joseph Kurpaska; caring sister, Lorraine Roczniak of Enfield; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Kapinos, and sisters, Lena Minkos and Stephanie Bartula.

Funeral services for Jane will be held Tuesday from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 9-10:15AM.
