OBITUARY Jerome Mendoza June 28, 1956 – September 9, 2018 Jerome Mendoza, age 62, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at his home in Swansea surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Paula (Marois) Mendoza to whom he was married 31 years. Born in Warren, Michigan a son of the late Antone and Beverly (Barnes) Mendoza he was a longtime resident of Swansea.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1974 he attended Bristol Community College and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southeastern Massachusetts University. Jerry had a passion for sales pursuing a career as a successful salesman where he held the position of Vice President of his division at Comp-U-Call in Waltham. Most recently after retiring from IBM he worked part time at the Home Depot in Somerset where he was able to continue his love of sales and customer service.

An avid fan of boxing and a skilled boxer himself, he was a five-time Golden Glove recipient. He enjoyed watching Sports with his son. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Justin Mendoza; one brother Antone Mendoza; cousin, Jo Ann Buchanan who was more like a sister to him than a cousin and many other cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved and cherished. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Funeral Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Contributions in his honor may be made to Southcoast VNA Hospice, 200 Mill Road, Ste.

120, Fairhaven, MA, 02719. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
