Obituary for Jerry Paul Luster Jerry Paul Luster, age 70, of Church Hill, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN. He was a son of the late James and Emma Bernard Luster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Luster; brother, Orlin Luster.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Promise Church in Church Hill and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching Kenzie play sports. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to many.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Melissa Dixon and husband Mike of Church Hill; granddaughter, Kenzie Dixon; sisters, Ann Waycaster and Thelma Joyce Powell; and brothers, William Carl “W.C.” Luster and wife Janie, and James Lacy Luster. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center for their loving care given to Mr. Luster.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jonathan Lovelace officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. The graveside service will be private. Military honors will be provided by the Hawkins County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard.
