Obituary for Jerry Wayne Elm Command Master Chief Jerry Wayne Elm USN (ret), 74, of N. Charleston, husband of the late Donnette Elaine Elm, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at his residence. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 5 to 7 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd. , Summerville, SC 29485. Flowers will be accepted.

Jerry was born on August 31, 1944 in Spartanburg, SC, son of the late Ambers and Edith Elm. He graduated from Spartanburg High School. After graduating he joined the US Navy where he retired after serving 30 years.

He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He loved the Casinos in Cherokee, NC. Survivors include: two daughters: Cynthia Dianne Elm of Ladson and Beverly Elaine Hunter (Steven) of Merritt Island, FL; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Primm (Josh), Christopher Wayne Hodges, Priscilla Dianne Lawrimore, Sarah-Donna Grace Lawrimore and Ryan Hunter; two great grandchildren: Catherine Primm and Alexei Dianne Branham; one brother: Earl Elm (Patty) of Greer, SC; four sisters: Barbara Winters of Anderson, SC, Judy Gowan (Wayne) of Greer, SC, Yvonne Brekke of Boiling Springs, SC and Janice Dallas (Dan) of Spartanburg, SC.

He was predeceased by three brothers: John Terry Elm, Duncan Elm and Gerald Elm. A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www. jamesadyal.com.
