Obituary for Jimmy D. Dawson Graveside services for Jimmy D. Dawson, 73, of Gilmer will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 in the pavilion at Enoch Cemetery under the direction of McWhorter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2018 at McWhorter funeral home. Jimmy was born on January 1, 1945 in Vernon, Texas to William Taylor and Ava Maurine Dawson and passed form this life on October 10, 2018 in Gilmer, Texas.

On January 10, 1969, Jimmy married Diane Boggs in Arlington, Texas. Jimmy worked in the production control unit at Lockheed Martin in Grand Prarie, Texas until his retirement when he and Diane moved to Gilmer, Texas. Jimmy enjoyed boating and fishing and listening to a little good music in his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; Jessie Maurine and Ruth Elizabeth, 2 brothers; Donald Carroll and William Tarrence ”Sam” Dawson and by his son; Timothy Dawson. Survivors include his wife; Diane Dawson, children; Darrell Dawson, Terri Crawford, and Jana Jones. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and his brother; Blanton Dawson.
