Obituary for Jimmy D Marchman Jimmy Marchman, lifelong Newnan resident, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2018 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born on August 6, 1946 to Homer Lee Marchman and Effie Elkins Marchman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Shannon Marchman Molloy and his brothers Homer O’Neal Marchman, Roland Marchman, and A.L. Marchman, and by a great granddaughter, Emersyn Lee Artz.
In 1983, Jimmy married the love of his life, Linda. The two were inseparable and would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary in January. Together they loved spending time with their children, grandchildren, and pets.
Jimmy was a kind and loving father and grandfather. His humor and wit were a blessing to all who knew him. Jimmy and Linda loved spending time camping, boating, and vacationing with their children and grandchildren.
He was a staunch Republican and loved engaging the family in political debates. One of his greatest qualities was his love for animals. Anyone who knew Jimmy knew that his love for animals was an essential part of the man he was.
He could often be found guilty of sneaking treats to any four-legged friend who crossed his path. This deep love of animals was rivaled only by his love for his family. Survivors include his beloved wife and best friend, Linda Marchman, his daughters Misty Marchman Carden, of Rome, GA, Tammy Williford Smith of Newnan, GA, Connie Williford Marsh of Macon, GA.
His sons-in-law include James Marsh of Macon, GA and Tommy Molloy of Lincroft, NJ. He loved being a grandfather to his grandchildren Hilary Smith and Katy Smith, both of Newnan, GA, Jeremy Fricks and Shelby Green both of Rome, GA, Austin Marsh of Chandler, AZ, Megan Molloy of Lincroft, NJ. His surviving siblings are his sister, Jennie (Carl) Sanders of Moreland, GA, and his brothers Darrell Marchman of Moreland, Joel (Kathy) Marchman of Luthersville, GA, Ricky (Deborah) Marchman of Newnan, GA, and Stevie (Debbie) Marchman of Villa Rica, GA.
There are six great grandchildren and an extended family of many nieces and nephews. Also, appropriate mention must be made of his beloved pets Toby and Lucy. Jimmy’s life will be remembered and celebrated at a memorial service at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street in Newnan on Friday December 21st at 3:00 PM.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM. Jimmy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the animals he loved and treasured.
