Obituary for Joan Marie “Joanie” Bozovich (Ogden) Joan Marie “Joanie” Bozovich, 61, of West Frankfort, passed away 10:57 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in Herrin Hospital. Joanie was born June 16, 1957 in Aurora to Barry Ogden and Sylvia (Lappin) Odgen-Meyers. She married John Bozovich on November 1, 2000 at Harmony Freewill Baptist Church, near West Frankfort.
Joanie graduated from Geneva High School and moved back to West Frankfort with her family on her grandfather’s farm. Joanie was employed by Flander’s Electric in Marion for 31 years before health began to fail. She was a member of Harmony Freewill Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching and working with the children in Sunday School and Bible School.
She also enjoyed working in her garden. Joanie will be sadly missed by her family and friends, but will be reunited with her loved ones. Joanie is survived by her husband John Bozovich; mother, Sylvia Meyers; daughter, Rachel Franklin and companion Michael Malone; three step-children, Anne (Jeff) Ahrrns, Jennifer Nelson and John Kyle Bozivich; ten great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Britton, Arianna, Caitlyn, Lexi, Brandon, Cassandra, Spencer, Benjamin and Samantha; two brothers, Barry K. Ogden and Thomas (Margaret) Ogden.
She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father; step-father, Floyd Meyers and brother, Timothy James Ogden. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Harmony Freewill Baptist Church with Br.
Curtis Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am.
til 1:00 p.m. at the church. Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church.
