John’s Obituary Marion, VA John Daniel Troxell, age 76 passed away Thursday January 31, 2019 at his home in Marion after battling leukemia and bladder cancer for several years. Johnny was born in Smyth County, VA to the late John Summerfield Troxell and Mary Alia Reedy Troxell and was preceded in death by his sisters, Louina Moore, Betty Lou Richardson and Mary Ann Robinson; his brother, William J. Troxell. He served in the US Army, worked at the SWVA State Hospital and retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections.

He attended the Marion First Church of God. Survivors include, his wife of 531/2 years, Dortha Linda Troxell; sister, Barbara Jane Taylor; brothers in law, Harold “Bud” Robinson, Ernest J. Blevins, Mickey Blevins; sisters in law, Joyce R. Blevins, Judy Surface, Donna Jean Testerman and husband Ronnie; several nieces and nephews also survive. As per Johnny’s request, there will be no services.
