Obituary for John E. Taylor John E. Taylor, 92, of Plainville, husband of Teresa (Cavaliere) Taylor, passed away Monday (May 7, 2018) at the Atria of Farmington. Born in New Haven, he was a former New Britain resident, before moving to Plainville in 1957. He attended New Britain High School, served in the US Coast Guard during World War II and later received a degree from the University of New Haven.

John was honored to serve with the Connecticut State Police for 32 years, rising to the rank of Major. He retired in August, 1989. John was a member of the Church of St. Patrick in Farmington and was a 40 year member of the Bell City Rifle Club in Southington.

He loved his family, golfing, hiking, woodworking, painting, photography, the ocean and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his wife Teresa, he leaves a son, John Taylor Jr. and his wife Ann of Farmington; two daughters, Mary Perun and her husband Richard of Plainvillle; and Olivia Carbone and her husband Vinnie of Wethersfield; six grandchildren, Andrew and Partick Taylor, Taylor Perun, Vincent, Kathryn and Nicole Carbone. John was predeceased by a sister, Mary Jane Hartney and a brother, William Taylor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday (May 14, 2018) 10 AM at the Church of St. Patrick, Main Street, Farmington (Please go directly to the church). Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. There are no calling hours.
