Obituary for John Edward Cox Grifton- John Edward Cox, 85, loving father and husband, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center after a long illness. Born August 26, 1932 in High Point, NC, he spent most of his life in Grifton, NC. He was retired from Heilig Meyers Furniture and was a member of Grifton Free Will Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.

He was an avid Tat Heel fan and he loved watching Judge Judy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Wanda Irene Cox. He is survived by his daughter Melissa Rouse and husband Ricky of Grifton and son David Cox of Greenville, grandchildren Chris, Steven, Blake, Melane, and five great grandchildren.

The family would like to send a special thank you to dads care giver, Curt Heath. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, 2:00pm at Grifton Free Will Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 1-2 pm at the church and at other times at the home, 6243 Brassie Drive, Grifton NC.
