John was born on November 26, 1927 in Chicago, the son of the late John & Victoria (Silkus) Hornack. He was educated in the schools of Chicago.

He married Barbara Swanson on July 6, 1969 in Chicago. John was employed as a salesman for many years. His hobbies included golfing, politics, history, loved his sports, especially cheering for the Cubs & Bears.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hornack of Kenosha; son, John C. Hornack of West Palm Beach, FL; and sister, Renee’ (Michael) Phillips of Grand Junction, CO. John was preceded in death by his brother, Robert, and sisters, Rose Marie & Geneiveve. Services were private.
