Obituary of Joseph Anthony Dilbeck Joseph Anthony Dilbeck, 90, of Sterling Heights, formerly of Bay City, was born into eternal life on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 16, 2018, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Joe was born in Detroit on April 12, 1928, the son of the late Stanislaus and Dorothy (Bonkowski) Dilbeckowski. Through mutual friends, he met the former Dolores Muszynski.

They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on September 12, 1948. After many years of faithful service, Joe retired from General Motors. He enjoyed cross-country skiing, rowing his canoe, and was an accomplished basket weaver.

Joe was a private, yet deeply generous man, who will forever be remembered for putting others before himself. He leaves behind several family and friends. A private visiting and funeral will be held, with interment to be held in Great Lakes National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Joe’s neighbors and many caregivers for their compassionate care. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.
