Joseph Davis January 4, 1950 – December 25, 2018 Joseph Davis, 68 of Carteret passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick. Born and raised in Jersey City, Joe resided there for many years before settling in Carteret 30 years ago. Mr. Davis was honorably discharged from the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War and was later employed as a Jersey City Firefighter until retiring 12 years ago.

Joe was a member of the Carteret Knights of Columbus Council 1280, Divine Mercy Parish-Holy family Church in Carteret and was an avid bowler and Wii golfer and always enjoyed fire department ski trips to Colorado. Joe was predeceased by his wife, Rose Davis; children, Sean, Tracy and Dawn Davis; siblings, Daniel and Helen Davis; two brothers-in-law, Ed and Lester and sister-in-law Catherine. Surviving are his children, Annmarie Rose and her husband Jesse, Mary Ellen Campbell, Jamie Steinbacher and her husband Bill, Megan Davis; grandchildren, Samantha, Joseph, Darrec, Melissa, Tyler, Shannon, Steven, Jonathan, Jesse, Melia, Raina, Billy and Brooke.

Also surviving are his brother, Jack Tobias and his wife Claudia; companion, Annmarie McCarthy; brothers-in-law, Patrick and Michael and sisters-in-law, Patti and Erma along with his two beloved dogs, Lady and Xena. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family R.C. Church in Carteret. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe may be made to Women Rising, Inc. of Jersey City by clicking the donation link on this page.
