Joseph’s Obituary Funeral services for Joseph Stafford Alfred, 65, will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 232 St. Deporres Street Broussard, LA. The family will receive visitors beginning at 8 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11AM. A Rosary will be prayed beginning at 10 AM.

Father Mike Sucharski will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass. Joseph Stafford Alfred was born on January 21, 1954 at Lafayette Charity Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana. After a lengthy series if illnesses and lastly a massive stroke, Joseph departed this world on Thursday, January 21, 2019 at Camelot of Broussard.

He was surrounded by his wife and two children at death. Joseph was a resident of Broussard. He was a hard worker and provided very well for his family.

He worked in the oilfield industry for over 28 years. His favorite past time was chilling with his old school music (particularly James Brown) and barbecuing with a cold can of beer. He also enjoyed eating crawfish, fishing and watching the sport channel while sitting in his recliner.

His latest enjoyment was spending time with his two grandchildren. Joseph leaves to cherish his wife of 39 years Linda Williams Alfred of Broussard; son Desmond Alfred of Broussard; daughter Stephanie Ellen Alfred of Lafayette; two grandchildren Roman James Broussard and Emberlie Elizabeth Broussard; three brothers Thomas (Pam) Alfred of Lafayette, Largis (Bernadette) Alfred Jr. of Carencro and Johnny (Melinda) Alfred of Baton Rouge; two sisters Gustavia (Adam) Guillory of Lafayette and Sheila (Darren) Thibeaux of Lafayette and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his late father Largis Alfred Sr., his mother Mary Lillian Comeaux Alfred and a sister Rose Mary Alfred.
