Joyce A. (Hobbs) Pittsford, age 64, of Anderson, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 29, 2018 at her residence. She was born on September 20, 1953 in Anderson, the daughter of Charles and Rosemary (Krebs) Hobbs. A lifelong resident of Madison County, she married J.R. Pittsford on June 18, 1977 in Anderson, and he survives.

Joyce was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School, Class of 1972 and attended Indiana Business College. In her working years, she was employed by Citizens Bank and Reynolds Farm Equipment in Anderson. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood.

Joyce was an avid Collin Raye fan and was a member of his fan club. She was the family historian and loved doing family history. Every morning Joyce would call her mother, and they would enjoy working the crossword puzzle together.

Joyce battled cancer several times and had part of her leg amputated, but through it all was always a positive, encouraging soul in our world. Joyce is survived by her husband, of 41 years, J.R. Pittsford; mother, Rosemary Hobbs; 3 brothers, Tobey (Linda) Hobbs, Michael Hobbs, and Richard Hobbs; sister, Nancy (Dennis) Miller; step daughter Diana Pittsford; several aunts and uncles, including special aunt, Lydia Krebs, several nieces, nephews, great nephews and cousins. Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Hobbs, infant sister, grandfathers and grandmothers, and several aunts and uncles.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Eddy, the Chemo Lab, St. John’s Hospital, Dr. Marvel and their staffs, and all the caregivers who helped care for Joyce. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood with Father Dennis Goth officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Elwood.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home 305 E. Sigler Street in Frankton.
