Sonia A. Mort, age 78, of Frankton, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on February 25, 1940, to the late Gerald Devaney and Hazel (Bramel) Devaney . On June 24, 1960 she married the love of her life Edward Mort.

She graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School in 1958. Sonia was a CNA for many years for the Elwood Visiting Nurse Association, Mercy Hospital O.B. department, and St. Vincent Hospice. This was her favorite time of the year, she enjoyed walking in the snow.

Sonia loved to spend time with her family and friends. Sonia is survived by her loving husband, of 58 years, Edward Mort of Frankton, son, Edward Mort II, daughter, Tracy Mort-Larussa, five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. Sonia was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Devaney, and her mother, Hazel (Bramel) Devaney and one brother Bill Devaney.

Private family graveside services will be held at the K. of P. and IOOF Cemetery in Frankton. Arrangements have been entrusted by Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
