Terry Allen McCord, age 66, of Westfield, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Richard Roudebush Veteran’s Medical Center in Indianapolis following a recent diagnosis of lung cancer. . Terry was born on October 26, 1951, to Allen and Betty (Daniels) McCord in Elwood, IN.

A resident of Westfield for several years, Terry graduated from Frankton High School in 1969 where he was active in basketball and track. Taking an early enlistment, Terry served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War campaign. (1969 – 1973).

He was an “On Grounds Fuel Specialist” stationed at the Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand. Terry received many commendation awards. After his honorable discharge, Terry returned to central Indiana and began his career in home interior design.

He was associated many years with Aero Draperies. Subsequently, Terry established his own independent companies: McCord Draperies & Flooring Basics, In semi-retirement, he was a Life/Health Insurance counselor. Terry was a born again Christian and attended Grace Church in Noblesville where he and his daughter Madison were Sunday greeters.

Terry loved the Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee, and Indiana State Parks. Golfing was a special bonding time for Terry, his Dad, and brother Bob. Terry was a positive thinker and fun loving.

Survivors include his sweet 11 year old daughter, Madison, step daughter, Sara Grady, sister Jackie (McCord) Fisher of Muncie, 3 brothers, Robert McCord of Alexandria, Doug McCord of Frankton, and George Free of Florida, niece, Lauren (Fisher) Burke, great-nephew, Aiden Fisher, step mother, Phyllis (Harbit) McCord, Madison’s mother, Sheri Tryon McCord, and several McCord cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeannie McCord, and brother-in-law, Dick Fisher. Services are pending at this time, and will be announced in the near future.
