Otis Lee Walker Cress, age 70, of Frankton, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis He was born in Pennington Gap, VA on January 24, 1948, to the parents of Walker and Reva (Rowland) Cress. He was a 1965 graduate of Alexandria High School. After high school Otis served our Country in the United States Army.

He then received his masters degree from Anderson University. On February 26, 1977 he married the love of his life Gena (Canfield) Cress and they shared over 41 years of marriage together. Otis retired in 2013, as Teacher and Coach from Frankton Junior Senior High School.

Otis enjoyed fishing, coaching his boys and grandsons and watching his grandchildren activities. Otis is survived by his loving Wife, of 41 years, Gena (Canfield) Cress; father, Walker Cress; sons, Josh (wife Tammy) Cress, Jared (wife Kyley) Cress; grandchildren, Micaela, Cambell, Kerrigan, Maizy, Finnigan, Jax, Keagan, Kyler, and Jaci, sisters, Janice (husband Phil) Webb, Lisa Cress, and Lora Cress; brother, Chris (wife Becky) Cress; and several nieces and nephews. Otis was preceded in death by his mother, Reva Cress; son, Nathan Cress; and grandson, Kason Cress.

A memorial service will be at 5:00 pm Friday, September 7, 2018 at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler Street Frankton, IN 46044 with Reverend Nathan Whybrew officiating. The family has requested everyone dress in their favorite Frankton Eagles Clothing or red and white. Family and friends may call on Friday, September 7, 2018, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home.

The family has requested that everyone come to the Frankton High School Football game Friday evening as the school and family pays tribute to Otis. Memorial contributions may be made to The Otis Cress Memorial Scholarship Fund, checks can be made payable to Frankton Junior Senior High School please include in the memo Otis Cress Memorial Scholarship Fund).
