Obituary of Joyce Berkley Dora Joyce Berkley, 95, passed away in Olympia, Washington on September 30, 2018. She was born in White Salmon, Washington on February 22, 1923 to Elsie Mae (Ackley) and James George Downs. Joyce worked at the cannery in Hood River and retired as a wool washer from the Pendleton Woolen Mills in Camas.

She belonged to the Baptist Church and, as an avid gardener, was a member of the Garden Club. Joyce is survived by her brother Clifford Downs of Claremore, Oklahoma; children Linda Matthew and George Berkley, both of Mossyrock, Washington; twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Paula Capell, and siblings Howard Downs, Marge Helvey, Wallace C. Downs and Roberta Williams.

A viewing will be held at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon from 9:30-11:30am on Saturday, October 6, 2018, immediately followed by a graveside service at 12:00-noon at the Klickitat County Cemetery District No. 1 Cemetery, also in White Salmon, Washington.
