Julia A. Meenagh, age 97, of Centerville Road, Warwick, died January 30, 2019 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 11, 1921, a daughter of the late Francisco Rodrigues Lopes and the late Maria (Almeida Cruz) Lopes. She was the wife of the late Joseph Meenagh and the late Alfred Fratus.

She is survived by her children; Marie Gilliam of Richmond, Texas, Carol Belmore of Warwick, Freddy L. Fratus of W. Warwick, Joseph T. Meenagh of Coventry. She was the beloved grandmother of 27 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Donald A. Fratus, Francisco G. Fratus and Michael R. Fratus.

She was predeceased by her siblings; Caroline, Beatrice, Raymond, Johnny, Elsie, Flora, Dorothy, Frankie, Georgie and Jimmy. Julia was a past president of the Rosary and Altar Guild of St. Rose of Lima Church. Julia was a member of St. Rose of Lima Choir and St. Clément’s Choir.

Her funeral will begin on Tuesday at 8:45am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am in St. Francis Xavier Church, N. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will be in Assonet Burial Ground, Assonet, MA.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02904. To send flowers or a remembrance gift to the family of Julia Meenagh, please visit our Tribute Store.
