Obituary for Julius C. Walter Julius C. Walter, 88 of Hollidaysburg died Wednesday morning April 18, 2018 at UPMC Altoona hospital. He was born September 8, 1929 in Hollidaysburg, son of the late John H. and Florence (Walls) Walter. Julius married M. Joanne Lucas on March 14, 1952 in Hollidaysburg and she preceded him in death on August 14, 2013.

Surviving are 2 daughters- Brenda Walter of Sarasota FL. And Sandra Ritchey husband Steve of Duncansville, also surviving are 2 sons- Francis of Altoona and Van of Lapel Indiana. 7 grandchildren- Brett and Brian Walter, Rachel Abbatangelo, Adam and Sara Hunter, and Eric and Steve Ritchey.

9 great grandchildren and also surviving are 1 sister- Nancy Kratzer in VA and many nieces and nephews. Julius was preceded in death by- 2 sisters- Gladys and Helen and by 3 brothers- Tom, John, and Jerry. Julius retired in 1991 from PPG, he was a 1948 grad of Hollidaysburg area high school where he was the first State Wrestling Champion.

Julius served in the US Army from 1948 until 1952, he enjoyed watching his grandson’s wrestle, was an avid hunter and recently just enjoyed watching wildlife. Julius was a member of the Allegheny Club and American Legion Post 516. Friends will be received from 2-4p.m. and from 6p.m. until the 8p.m. funeral service Saturday April 21, 2018 at The Good Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Elizabeth Hess officiant.
