Obituary for June L. Ziegler June L. Ziegler, 93, of York died peacefully, Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Pappus House. Born in York on June 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Claire Ehrhart and the late Cora (Stoner) Domer. June was the loving wife of the late Robert H. Ziegler; he died September 17, 1997.

June was a teacher’s aide for the York City School District, serving in many of the district’s elementary schools. She was an active member of the former Trinity United Methodist Church in York, and later became an active member of Fourth United Methodist Church in York, following the two churches merger. June served the churches as a Sunday school teacher, and taught bible study until she was 92 years old.

She was also active with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Den Mother. June is survived by her sons, Dennis R. Ziegler and his wife, Margaret of Holland, VT, David S. Ziegler and his wife, Patricia of Lancaster, OH, and Brian K. Ziegler and his wife, Sharon of York. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Jean Ziegler of Newark, DE, her 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her son, Stephen A. Ziegler, her sister, Geraldine O’Brien, and her beloved granddaughter, Allison Ziegler. A funeral service to celebrate June’s life will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Fourth United Methodist Church, 1067 East Market Street, York, with Reverend Miguel H. Arenas officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery.

There will be a viewing at the church on Monday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in June’s memory may be made to Fourth United Methodist Church, 20 North Lehman Street, York, PA 17403 or Pappus House, 253 Cherry Street, York, PA 17402.
