Obituary for Greta Lee (Spence) Corsa Greta Lee (Spence) Corsa, 79, of York, entered into the Lord’s loving arms, Saturday, June 9, 2018. Born in York on October 26, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Jessie A. (Blouse) Reisinger and the late Harold Spence. Greta was the loving wife of the late Gene M. Redmond and the late Harold V. “Cork” Corsa, Jr. Greta was a wonderful homemaker and mother.
She also worked for many years for W.E.D.J. , Inc. and Doucette Industries. Earlier in life she was a hairdresser at Bev Kelly’s Hair Salon on Market Street in York.
Greta enjoyed wordbooks, watching cowboy movies, and bird watching. She loved to spend time with family and friends and in her final days really enjoyed the care of her daughter-in-law, Ruthie and the companionship of her “grandcat Fluffy”. Greta is survived by her son, Gene L. Redmond and his wife, Ruthie of Manchester, and her sisters, Marlene A. (Spence) Kinard of Wrightsville and Linda R. (Bupp) (Jones) Romberger and her husband, Richard of York.
She is also survived by her grandson, Brian Waldrup of Manchester, her granddaughter, Rebekah Waldrup of Lancaster, her great-granddaughter, Delilah Waldrup of Lancaster, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Holtzinger and her grandparents, Annie May (Gohn) Blouse and William Spangler Blouse. A funeral service to celebrate Greta’s life will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York with Pastor Tom Gilman officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Greta’s memory may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. Mom, You were the best mother I could have ever asked for.
