Obituary for Sonia Dawn Reever Sonia Dawn (Myers) Reever, 86, died at her residence on May 11, 2018. She was the wife of Russell Eugene “Gene” Reever with whom she observed their 68th wedding anniversary on July 1, 2017. Born June 22, 1931 in York, she was the daughter of the late Wilson K. Myers and the late Pauline (Flinchbaugh) Kuentzler.

Sonia retired as secretary from the York Township Police Department, was a 1949 graduate of Hellam High School and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Hallam. In addition to her husband, Sonia is survived by two sons, Craig Reever of York and Randy Reever and his wife, Deborah of York; a daughter, Melodye Dempwolf and her companion, Brooks Pomper of York; five grandchildren, Matthew Reever and his wife, Wendy of York, Alison Brown and her husband, Blake of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Hilary Reever of York, Christopher Dempwolf and his wife, Kristen of York and Cassandra Dempwolf of York; two great-grandchildren, Ruthie Brown and Spencer Brown; and six siblings, Michael Koch, Terry Koch, Linda Nichols, Gary Myers, Barbara Ruby and Donald Myers. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St. York, with Chaplain Wesley Mast officiating.

Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
