Obituary for Karen Evelynanne Turner Early in the morning on Wednesday the 19th day of December 2018, Karen Evelynanne Tucker Turner met her Savior Jesus Christ face to face. Karen was born on the 27th day of June 1957 to Sylvia Kay DeMent Tucker and Leonard Dennis “Dan” Tucker. Her parents precede her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Mark Bishop Turner; children by marriage, Emily Turner, Clayton Turner, and Sarah (Keith) Tielke; and grandchildren, Lola, Owen, and Jude Tielke. Karen’s brother, William Dennis “Dink” Tucker; sister-in-law Melissa Tucker; 5 nieces and 2 nephews; 5 great nieces and 5 great nephews also survive her. Karen grew up in northeastern Jefferson County attending elementary school at L.M. Smith and graduated in 1975 from Huffman High School.

She attended Jefferson State Community College. A significant portion of her work life was at Dan Tucker Auto Sales, the family business where she was the office manager. In addition, Karen was an Associate Broker for Brik Realty working primarily for Jeff Richardson the past five years.

During her formative years, she and her family attended First Baptist Church of Center Point. Her pastor during those years was Ralph Feild. Pastor Feild’s favorite and oft quoted verse was Philippian’s 1:21…”For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain”.

Today, that no longer is a memory verse for Karen but the living experience of her faith. Karen and Mark are members of Gardendale First Baptist Church where Karen enjoyed working in the Media Ministry operating a television camera for eight years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Media Ministry at Gardendale First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Gardendale First Baptist Church North Campus with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4:00 p.m. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Karen Evelynanne Turner please visit our Sympathy Store.
