Karen Jean Callicutt, 63, of Asheboro, died Friday, March 8, 2019 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Macedonia United Methodist Church, Troy, with Rev. Bill Knapp and Rev.

Faron Overton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Randolph County, NC, on April 18, 1955, Karen was the daughter of the late T.R. Callicutt and Avis Williams Callicutt.

She was retired from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department as a jailer. Karen attended Macedonia United Methodist Church and Harvest Field Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Callicutt; sister, Patricia Chriscoe; and nephew, Daniel McLeod. Surviving are her son, Jeremy Bailey and wife, LeeAnn, of Asheboro; sisters, Sharon Harwell, of Asheboro, Joyce Callicutt and husband, Bruce, of Troy; brothers, Tim Callicutt and wife, Ellen, of Asheboro, Dwayne Callicutt and wife, Vicky, of Troy; brother-in-law, Donnie Chriscoe, of Asheboro; granddaughter, Lilyana Joi Bailey; special dog, Precious; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son.
