Katherine’s Obituary Katherine Crumbley Benefield, 91, of Gastonia, passed away January 9, 2018 at Morning Side of Gastonia. She was born March 18, 1927 in Tallapoosa, GA, the daughter of the late Harvey James Crumbley and Nora Dell Kelly Crumbley. Katherine attended First Assembly of God and New Covenant Church in Gastonia.

She loved her family and helping others. She was a devoted mother and Maw Maw. She is survived by her son, Randy Benefield and wife, Dodie; son-in-law, Danny Jordan; brothers, Harvey Crumbley Jr. and Charles Crumbley; sister, Trudy Crumbley; grandchildren, Lori Evatt (Adam), LeAnn Medley (Brandon), Eli Benefield (Stacey), Josh Jordan (Erika) and Joe Jordan; and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Jordan and brother, Floyd Crumbley. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday, January 11, 2019 at New Covenant Church, 631 Efird Street, Gastonia, NC, officiated by Dr. John Pelonero. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
