Jim’s Obituary Jim Cook, 49, of Fayetteville, passed away September 14, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 19, 1969 in Montgomery County, Maryland, the son of Michael Dean Cook and Sharon Anne Pierce Cook. Jim attended Northwood Temple in Fayetteville, NC.

He graduated as an Aeronautical Engineer from Embry Riddle College in Daytona, Florida. He retired from the United States Army after 27 years of service, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was proud to serve his country.

Jim loved his two four-legged sons, Jake and Jaeger. He loved the outdoors, never met at stranger and was always willing to help friends and family if they needed it. Left to cherish his memories along with his parents, are his loving wife of 14 years, Vickie Barnett Cook; daughters, Katrina Marcey (Jamie), Samantha Alford (Ryan), and Ashley Scott; brothers, Jeremy Cook (Shannon), and Brian Cook (Shelly); nephew, Ben Cook; niece, Reagan Cook; and godparents, Barbara and Ron Prusinski.

A graveside service will be held 3 pm on January 16, 2019 at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia with full military honors. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia. Condolences may be made online at www.
