Obituary of Kathleen Byrne Kathleen P. Byrne, 74, of Milan, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born on March 18, 1944, in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Walsh) Cahill. Kathleen married William Byrne on April 14, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Church in Yonkers.

William survives at home. For many years, Kathleen worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at both the Thompson House and Ferncliff Nursing Homes in Rhinebeck. Kathleen volunteered at St. Christopher’s School in Red Hook and was a member of various Police and Fireman Benevolent organizations.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her children, William F. Byrne IV, MaryEllen (Wayne) Byrne-Spaulding, Edward (Ellen) Byrne, and Daryl Ann (Kyle) Beechel;her grandchildren, Charles, Brandon, and Corey Douglass, Brianne, Sophia, and Quinn Byrne; great grandson, Hayden Douglass; her sister, Margaret Makar, brother & sister-in-law Brian (Carol) Byrne, brother & sister-in-law Jim (Kristine) Byrne, brother & sister-in-law Christopher (Maureen) Byrne, sister & brother-in-law Mary Elizabeth (Christopher) Batich; along with several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. A sister, Mary Cortese, and her brother, Thomas Driscoll, predeceased her. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11 am at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook, NY. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made in Kathleen’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, www/stjude.org/memorial.
