Obituary for Kathy L Thomas Kathy Thomas passed away Tuesday, June 5th 2018 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 64 years. She will be greatly missed by the love of her life, Darrell Thomas. Services will be Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in care of her family. Kathy was born December 23, 1953 to Ruby and Kenneth Exline.

She attended school at Melcher-Dallas where she met and began dating Darrell Thomas. She was 13 and he was 15 years old, the beginning of 51 years together. They were married on December 27, 1969 in Harvey, Iowa.

She worked at Ben Franklin in Knoxville, spent 18 years at Herschel in Indianola, and also worked at Pella Window. She will be remembered as being a loving, thoughtful, and caring person who always put others before herself. She was generous and always willing to lend a hand.

Beautiful inside and out. Her greatest thing in life was her family. Not only her husband and son, but also all family was a great joy in her life.

Preceding her in death were her son, Jerry Lee; mother, Ruby Boucher; brother, Tom Exline; and grandmothers: Juanita Anderson and Viola Robinson. Survivors include her husband and best friend of 51 years, Darrell Thomas; son, Darrell Lee (Barbara) Thomas; grandchildren: Brayden Lee, Sabrina, Ryan, and Ben; father, Dennis Boucher; siblings: Sonda (Michael) Gabriel, Jay (Diana) Exline, Wayne (Sandy) Exline; an aunt, Mary VanderEcken; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
