Obituary for Kenneth David Kreyling Services for Kenneth David Kreyling, 65, will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends on Friday, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Norwood Assembly of God to be used to help fund the Upper Room Ministry.

Kenneth David Kreyling was born October 16, 1952 to Walter and Sweeda Kreyling in St. Louis, Missouri. David was one of five children born to the couple. He attended Fort Zumwalt High School in O’Fallon, Missouri and graduated with the class of 1971.

On February 27, 1971 David married his high school sweetheart, Linda Monteith. The couple was blessed with four children: Christopher, Jeffrey, Jonah, and Amanda. David helped to support his family by working in construction.

In 1977, after choosing to pursue one of his great passions, he graduated from Drake University with a degree in Fine Arts. David then took a job at August Home Publishing as an illustrator. In 2013, after thirty years with the company, David retired at Senior Illustrator.

David’s talent didn’t stop at illustration. He enjoyed woodworking and could build anything. He also loved working around the yard.

David was always quick to share his love for the Lord. He had a deep faith and he instilled that faith in his children and grandchildren. He also loved his years of teaching children and adults at Sunday School.

David was a very proud husband, father, and grandfather. His sense of humor and loving smile will be missed by so many. David passed away May 9, 2018 at the Legacy Lodge Hospice in Chariton.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Linda; children: Christopher (Christina) Kreyling, Jeffrey (Jessica) Kreyling, Jonah Kreyling, and Amanda (Benton) Coker; 7 grandchildren: Ella, Noah, Tim, Isaac, Annika, Amelia, and Derek; siblings: Sandy (Mel) Lauck and Lynn (Butch) Kirkpatrick; many relatives and friends.
