Obituary for Kay Ruth Dighton- Kay Ruth, 73, died on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Scott County Hospital in Scott City. She was born on October 10, 1944 at Ness City the daughter of Jake & Bessie Etta (Brown) Helzer. Kay graduated from Dighton High School in 1963.

She lived in Virginia while her husband was in the military. She spent most of her adult life in Scott City and recently moved to Dighton. She was a Dispatcher for the Scott County Sheriff Department for over 15 years, worked at Long’s 96 Repair, was a CNA at Park Lane Nursing Home and currently was providing In Home Care for the elderly.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Scott City. Kay enjoyed scrapbooking, pictures, quilting & especially going to her Grandchildren’s ballgames. She was preceded in death by her Parents & Son- Norman Lee Ruth.

Survivors include 2 Sons- Richard Ruth of Scott City & Paul Ruth of McPherson, 2 Brothers- Larry Helzer of Winfield & Jerry Helzer of Newalla, Oklahoma, 6 Grandchildren & 4 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Dighton with Rev Berniece Ludlum officiating. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 PM Monday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton. Memorials are suggested to Kay Ruth Memorial Fund in care of Boomhower Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.
