Obituary for Kenneth C. Gaertner Kenneth Clark Gaertner, age 85, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018. Ken was born on January 18, 1933 to parents Fredrick and Helen (Miller) Gaertner in Saginaw, Michigan. Ken was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

where he served as a Sergeant during the Korean War. Upon returning home from the military, Ken met and married Mary Ann Early in August of 1972. He worked as a Youth Specialist at W. J. Maxey Boys Training School in Whitmore Lake, Michigan for 20 years.

Ken was an active poet and playwright, having published a book of poetry and producing plays in both New York and Ann Arbor. Ken is survived by his wife of 46 wonderful years, Mary Ann Gaertner; his children, Kurt (Joan Griffiths Vega) Vega and Bonnie Parker; his grandchild, David Parker; his brothers, Don Gaertner (Carol) and James Gaertner (Anne); and eleven nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Helen Gaertner and his brother, Fredrick Gaertner, Jr. (Harriet).

A memorial mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2250 E. Stadium Blvd. , Ann Arbor on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11 am. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 10 am.
