Obituary for Kenneth Charles Allen Kenneth Charles Allen, 85, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Saturday May 5th, 2018, at his home surrounded by family. Kenneth “Kenny” was born May 15, 1932, to Roy and Clara Allen on a farm near Spring Valley, MN. He attended country schools and Chatfield High School.
In 1953 he married Ethel Leitzen. The couple made their home in Rochester. Kenny served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Upon his return, he began working for Marigold Dairy and continued with them for 41 years until his retirement. After his retirement from Marigold Dairy he worked for Shorewood Senior Campus for many years. He was an avid gardener and found great joy in sharing his vegetables and flowers.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy of Northborough MA and Nancy Larsen (Christopher) of Rochester MN; four sons, David (Surapa) of Sioux Falls SD, Michael (Corrinn) of Eagan MN, Richard (Sandra) of Wichita KS and Thomas of Rochester MN; ten grandchildren, Kristina, Dustin, Jacob (Kayla), Mathew, Joshua (Cory), Nathan, Zachary, Alexander, Jarrett and Carter; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ethel; and his brothers and sisters. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
