Obituary for Kenneth E. Remines Kenneth E. Remines, age 67 of Tazewell, VA died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA. Born December 22, 1950 at Kingsville, MD, he was a son of the late George Lindsey Remines and Amanda Elizabeth McGuire Remines. Kenny had worked for many years in the maintenance department at the former Tazewell Industries.
He was a former member of the Town of Tazewell Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching reruns of Gunsmoke and many other Westerns. Mr. Remines was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in North Tazewell, VA.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert McGuire and Erin Jackson Remines. Those who survive to cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-seven years, Anna R. Woods Remines; three children, Michael R. Blevins and wife, Elizabeth Ann Blevins of Raleigh, NC, Tina Marie Remines Sheets and husband, Samuel Dean “Butch” Sheets and Gayeanna Remines, both of Tazewell, VA; three sisters, Irene Dean and Elizabeth Bandy and husband, Harold, both of Marion, VA and Cathy Carner and husband, Ed of North Tazewell, VA; four brothers, Luther “Chick” Remines of Welch, WV, Randy Remines and wife, Tina of North Tazewell, VA, George “June Bug” Remines of Tazewell, VA and Roy Remines and wife, Debbie of Bishop, VA; eight grandchildren, Tyler Sheets and wife, Rachael, Dean Sheets, Symantha Sheets, Chloe Reed, Maya Blevins, Makayla Sheets, Malachi Remines and Shawn Anderson, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Zane Sheets and Bella Lambert; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends also survive.
Funeral services for Kenneth E. Remines will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Rev. Dennis McLemore and Rev. Lisa Haywood officiating.
Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Mark McGuire, Brad McGuire, Shawn McGuire, Jimmie McGuire, Dean Sheets, Austin McBride, James Sheets and Jackie McBride. Malachi Remines and Shawn Anderson, Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
