Kenneth Eugene Holycross Jr., 62, of New Carlisle, passed away unexpectantly on Thursday, May 24, 2018. He was born on May 24, 1956, in Long Beach, California, the son of the late Kenneth E. and Earlene (Massie) Holycross. He served our country in the United States Army.

Ken worked for many years for Concrete Sealant in Huber Heights and then retired finally from Lowes in 2011. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing and especially cooking. Ken was known for his barbecue sauce, chili and grilling.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Genevieve “Jenny” (Jenkins) Holycross, four children: Melissa Bailey (Tania Thompson), Justin (Brandy) Holycross, Summer Massie, and Kenneth (Maribeth) Holycross III, twelve grandsons, two granddaughters, two great grandchildren, two sisters: Peggy Tapia and Diane Williamson, three brothers: Danny Holycross, David (Sandy) Holycross, and Duane (Joann) Downing; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers and one sister.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday May 29, 2018 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where private services will be held on Wednesday. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Ferncliff Cemetery.
