Lanny Dale Elliott, 67, of Hardinsburg, passed away at 2:45 PM on January 21, 2019 at his residence. He was born May 12, 1951 in Bedford, IN, the son of Ralph E. and Vivian Gayle (Boone) Elliott. He was married to Brenda Joyce Elliott and she preceded him in death in 2005.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson.

He is survived by two sisters, Linda G. Merkley of Jeffersonville and Leah “Janie” Fields of New Albany; one brother, Ralph “Joe” Elliott (Linda F.) of Orleans; several nieces, nephews and cousins also two dogs, Molly and Lucky. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. The funeral will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans with Pastor Cory Rash officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Orleans with military rites conducted by the Orleans American Legion Post 69. Friends are invited to the visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Orange County Humane Society.
