Lavern Myers, 78, of Stanwood, Iowa passed away on June 28, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His family has granted his wishes of a cremation and burial at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois with a memorial gathering on July 3, 2018 from 4-7 @ 422 N. Elm St. Lahey and Dawson Funeral Service of Olin is assisting the family at this time. Lavern was born on November 7, 1939 in Franklin County to Thomas Arthur and Alberta Violet (Street) Myers.

He married Marylyn Sievers on June 8, 1974 at Tipton Methodist Church He worked for CDI corporation as a Draftor. Lavern enjoyed fishing, hunting and an occasional drink. Lavern is survived by his wife, Marylyn Myers, daughter Lorinda (Jeptha) Randolph of Mechanicsville, four grandchildren; Zachary (Jessica) Randolph, Cody (Whitney) Randolph, Elizabeth (Ben) Meyer, Andrew Randolph, and three great-grandchildren, sisters; Estella “Marlene” Unruh, Marilyn Chase and a brother Thomas Arthur “Art” Myers of all Mechanicsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to his family in his honor. Online condolence may be left for the family at www.
