Lola Hansen, 81, of Wyoming passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her home in Wyoming, Iowa. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Lahey and Dawson Funeral Home in Wyoming.

Burial will be held at the Wyoming Cemetery. Lola Jayne Lorenzen was born on August 31, 1936 to Carl and Manda (Petersen) Lorenzen. She married John “Bill” Hansen on November 14, 1954 in Oxford Junction.

The two spent their lives farming. Lola was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming, Oxford Junction Auxiliary, JuWomo club, ladies golf at Little Bear Country Club and Monticello Bowling Leagues. She enjoyed being in multiple card clubs, going to the casino to play the slots, traveling to Branson and Tunica, riding on the motorcycle, camping and going on cruises.

She also enjoyed staying in the cabin at Bellevue. Lola was an avid Hawkeyes, Chicago Bulls and Chicago Cubs fan. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Those left to cherish Lola’s memories are her husband John Hansen, children; Brenda (Robert) Warner of Cedar Rapids, Brock (Michelle) Hansen of Wyoming, Pam (Mike) Williams of Wyoming, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and sister Leanna Turner of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Brad and brothers Wayne and Kenneth. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to her family in her honor.
