Fred Schnipkoweit Jr., 77, of Lost Nation passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday, October 1 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Union Presbyterian Church.

A burial will be held at a later date. Lahey and Dawson Funeral Service will be caring for the family at this time. Fred was born on April 16, 1941, son of Fred H. and Minnie (Ricklef) Schnipkoweit in Cedar County, Iowa.

He graduated from Stanwood High School. He married Joyce Willey on November 16, 1963 at the Toronto Community Church. He worked as a farmer as well as a machinest for Hoof in Maquoketa.

Fred was a member of the Toronto Community Church. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, camping and boating. He loved all dogs especially Chico and he especially loved his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, children; Joed and Shellie Heinen-Schnipkoweit of Davenport, Tina Schnipkoweit of Tipton, grandchildren; Justyn, Ivy and Emilie, sisters; Darlene (Dale) Coppess of Mt. Vernon, and Delores (Boyd) Hubb of Lost Nation. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters; Marnell, Marvell and Marilyn, sister Arlene in infancy and brother Delmar.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to his family in his honor, they will be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House and the Lost Nation Fire Department. Online Condolences may be left for the family at www.
