Dennis Robert Johnson, 75, of Clinton, Iowa passed away on June 12, 2018 at his home. His Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Maquoketa with Military Honors. Lahey and Dawson Funeral Services will be assisting the family at this time.

Dennis was born on September 22, 1942 to Hilbert and Monica (Aspel) Johnson. He married Patty Reiter on July 17, 2004 in Hazel Green Wisconsin. He was a member of the Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa, and Christian Community Fellowship Church in Clinton.

He enlisted in the United States Army from 1964 – 1967. During that time he received a Crew Chief Good Conduct Medal, Aircraft Crewman’s Badge and Vietnam Crewman’s Metal. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 75 of Maquoketa, VFW Post 3633 of Maquoketa and was a Commander from 2005 – 2009 and was a Disabled American Veterans Commander of Chapter 20 in Lancaster, Wisconsin and Chapter 2 of Davenport.

He received a Quilt of Valor on June 12, 2016. Dennis loved woodworking, wood working magazines and fishing. He enjoyed the grandkids, they were a big part of his life.

He lived for the DAV. He is survived by his wife, Patty Johnson, children; Susan (Larry) Holmes of Clinton, Danny (Stacy) Eads Jr. of Delmar, Andrea Johnson of Madison, WI, Craig Johnson of Madison, WI, Lynn Goings of TX, grandchildren; Jason Eads of Cedar Rapids, Reba Eads of Rock Falls, Ill, Dalton Dague of Clinton, Abby Ehlers of Clinton, Hannah Fultner of Maquoketa, Cody (Makayla) Eads of Maquoketa, Stone Eads of Maquoketa and other surviving grandchildren, brother Danny (Cindy) Johnson of Florida and his beloved cat Gidget. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David.
