Lawrence Barnett, 84, of Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Pigeon Roost, NC and son of the late Garther and Gertie Hughes Barnett. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his five brothers, and his son-in-law, Frank Richards.

Lawrence attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church and Rich Acres Free Will Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family especially riding his four wheeler. Lawrence was a supervisor in the manufacturing industry for several years before retiring.

Those left to cherish Lawrence’s memory include his loving wife of 66 years, Louise Wright Barnett, his son, Terry Barnett and his wife Carolyn, daughter, Vanda Richards, grandchildren: Michael Wilson (Tracey), Christy Decker (Tim), David Story, Stephen Barnett (Julie); several great-grandchildren, sisters: Lassie Laws, Dora Laws (Raymond), and Doris Estep; several nieces and nephews, special friends: Doug Evans, Frank Casteel, and his best friend Jeff Rymer. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations sent to Alzheimers TN 2319 Browns Mill Road, Johnson City, TN 37604 The family will greet friends to share memories from 11:00 am on Saturday, February 16, 2019 until a Celebration of Lawrence’s life at 1:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City with Pastor Kenneth Grindstaff and Pastor David Montgomery officiating. A Graveside and Committal service will be held following the service at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Robert Keller, Sr. officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Wilson, David Story, Stephen Barnett, Tim Decker, Joshua Wilson, and Jeff Rymer. Honorary pallbearer is Shelby Green. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.
