He was born March 18, 1935 to Abram Hans and Lucile Susan Reynolds Chlarson. He had nine brothers and sisters who all preceded him in death except his youngest sister, Jean (Bill) Hillhouse.

He was raised in Box Elder County and attended Box Elder High School. In 1955, he married Marie Jensen and they were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple. They lived in Corinne and Brigham City; where they raised five children: Debra Marie (Tom) Egbert of Victor Idaho; LeAnn (Todd) Reeves of Lehi; Kerry Lee (Patti) Chlarson of Sandy; Leslie Joe (Linda) Chlarson of Brigham City and Steven Hans Chlarson (deceased) who was married to Jenny Wright Chlarson Vincent of Brigham City.

He loved being a grandpa to 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He farmed for many years with Ted Burt in Corinne and then he drove a cement truck for Parsons Ready Mix until he retired. He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served diligently as a Stake Seventy, in a bishopric, and in many other callings.

He and Marie served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Omaha, Nebraska. On May 8, 2015, his wife, Marie, passed away and he missed her so very much. He always talked of going to be with her and longed for that day.

After Marie’s death, he moved to Mapleton, Utah to the Abbington Assisted Living Center. He loved the residents and staff at the Center and served as the ambassador for the residents. The family would like to express gratitude for the care he received from his medical providers and the staff of the Abbington.
