Obituary for Leon “Ed” Wilson Leon E. “Ed” Wilson, 68, Tipton, died early Tuesday morning October 9, 2018 at his home. He was born November 9, 1949 in Altoona son of the late Francis Edward and Dorothy Mae (Dittsworth) Wilson. Surviving are two daughters, Erika L. (Pete Misura) Wilson of West Mifflin and Kaleigh C. Wilson of Bellwood; two grandchildren, Savannah and Lennon; four brothers, Larry (MaryCarol) Wilson of Butler, Dave (Sharon) and Ronald Dittsworth both of Altoona and Bob Dittsworth in Arizona; three sisters, Gloria Richards of Duncansville, Debra (Rob) Greene in North Carolina, and Dolly Cheverria in Arizona.

He was preceded in death by a son, Leon Edward Wilson, Jr. in February 2009; and a brother, Donald Dittsworth. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze star medal. Ed retired as a foreman at Conrail, Altoona.

He was a member of VFW Anderson-Denny Post 4559 Tyrone and American Legion Howard Gardner Post 281 Tyrone. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Friends will be received from 2-4pm Friday, October 12, 2018 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood.

A funeral service will be held at 4pm Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
