Obituary for Linda Mae Boyd Linda Mae Boyd, age 71, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Saturday (February 16, 2019) in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital. Born June 2, 1947 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Luther Joseph and Banna Mae Hylton Boyd. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a faithful and dedicated member of Church Alive in Drill, Virginia.

She had worked as a cosmetologist for over fifty years, and had recently been employed by Northrup Grummon after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems. One of her greatest joys was cooking for her family, friends, and those in ministry. She cherished the hours of laughter and fellowship around her kitchen table.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Boyd and Douglas Boyd, and one sister-in-law, Wendy Boyd. Survivors include two children, Pamela Lester and husband, Gerald of Honaker and Kermit Jackson and wife, Katy of Woodbridge, Virginia; four grandchildren, Traci Cordle and husband, Andy, Jenny Curry and husband, Dan, Nicholas Jackson and wife, Katharine, and Samantha Dowell and husband, Joshua; four great-grandchildren, Jenson Cordle, Hagin Curry, Jackson Dowell, and Daisy Dowell; nieces and nephews, Harvey Boyd, Joseph Boyd, Melissa Boyd, Charles Gardner, Buddy Gardner, and Nona Gardner; sister-in-law, Harvelene Boyd; first husband and special friend, Gene Jackson; great-grandpup, Addy. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and medical staff of Johnston Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Gerald Lester and Rev. Dan Curry officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday in Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Lebanon, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30am to go in procession. Pallbearers will be Doug Hartsock, James Hess, Abbey Skeens, Darrell Lester, Jendy Hess, Bobby Vance, Jim Taylor, Brandon Hart, Jimmy Dickens, and Steve Lester.
