Obituary of Linda Passmore Linda L. Passmore, age 76, joined her Lord and Savior August 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born April 26, 1942 in Hornell, NY to William D. Pease and Anne (McNeil) Pease. Linda attended Painted Post High School where she met and later married the love of her life, John Paul Passmore on May 25, 1957.

They were nearly inseparable for 61 years of marriage. Linda’s greatest passion was being a loving wife, devoted mother to her five children and grandmother to her many grandchildren. She made her house a home that always had an open door waiting for someone to drop by and share a moment.

Linda spent most of her life as a resident of Painted Post with the exception of time spent in downstate NY while her husband began his career with NYS Dept. of Corrections. Linda also spent time in Florida, both in retirement and while her husband served in the U.S. NAVY.

She enjoyed spending many years on Waneta Lake where she and Paul built happy memories with family and friends. Linda treasured her time visiting and corresponding with her many friends, family and colleagues. She enjoyed the many school and sporting activities her children and grandchildren participated in.

Linda also enjoyed her employment at Wenderlich’s Florist in Coopers Plains and North Star Bank in Painted Post. Linda will be remembered as a gentle woman who was quick to make a new friend, had a kind heart, a quiet strength and a love for the Lord, guiding and raising her children in her faith. Linda taught her children to enjoy the simple things in life like the sound of the sea in a shell, the beauty of nature’s glory in the Fall and the smell of familiar foods cooking in the oven.

Linda will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Linda was most recently a member of the Saints Isadore and Maria Torribia Parish and previously a longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Painted Post. Linda is survived by her adoring husband, John Paul Passmore Sr., children Kathleen MacAuley of Painted Post, John (Marianne) Passmore, Jr. of Corning, Susan (Gerald) Grapevine of Painted Post, Mary Lynne (Stephen) Crouch of Painted Post and William (Reba) Passmore of California, 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, brother Gerald (Claudia) Pease of Painted Post and sister Barbara (David) Johnson of Painted Post.

She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Thomas Pease. Per family request, there will be no calling hours. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church, 8508 Main St, Campbell, NY 14821 on Monday August 6 at 11am.

Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or www. stjude.org.
