Obituary of Esther Ingersoll Esther Whitmore Ingersoll, age 94, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Guthrie Corning Hospital in Corning. Esther was born February 29, 1924 in Addison to Keyes and Frances (Phillips) Whitmore. She was a graduate of Addison High School in 1941, and was employed at Ingersoll-Rand four years prior to her marriage to Mervin Ingersoll.

Together they had three daughters. Esther was a long time member of The Church of the Redeemer. She worked for 10 years at the Addison Central School libraries and 17 years at Corning Community College where she retired in 1986.

Following retirement she volunteered for 23 years with Tuscarora Elementary School. Esther is survived by two daughters, Shelley Healy and Sharon (Wade) Arnold. Grandchildren include: Michaelynn “Mickey” (Doug) Baker, Kerie (Jeff) Carter, Matthew (Geri) Healy, Kristin Healy, and Melissa (Willie) Healy.

Great grandchildren: Heather (Jeremy) Watson, Nicole (Darwin) Baker, Jessica (Geoff) Thomas, Erica (Ryan) Rafferty, Kayla, Alex, Camden, Keira, Zach, and Caleb. Great-Great-Grandchildren include: Kobe, Hadleigh, Blaike, Gannon, Max, Darwin IV, Ivy, Rian, Olyvia, Keyanna, Ella, Kay, and several nieces, nephews, and their families. Esther is predeceased by her daughter, Michaelyn Ann Ingersoll (1948); sister, Mary O’Connor; brother-In-law, John O’Connor; Mary’s son, Michael O’Connor; son-in-law, Tom Healy Esther loved her family and friends, and continued to visit them throughout her life.

It is her hope that she gave something of her life to others that can be passed along. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Church of the Redeemer, 1 Wombaugh Square in Addison with Father Tom Gramley and Father Troy Preston officiating. Burial will be in Addison Rural Cemetery.
