Obituary of Annette Houpt Annette M. Houpt, age 79, of Caton, NY died Monday, September 10, 2018 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. Annette was born on April 2, 1939 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to Robert and Maggie (Athey) Traw. She was a graduate of Williford High School, and married James Houpt in 1957 and was predeceased by him in 2010.

She worked as an election official for Steuben County for many years. Annette was a member of Caton Bible Chapel where she was the church secretary, and where she also enjoyed volunteering her time. She spent her life devoted to God and her family, and she also loved to read.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Dave) McDonough of Lindley and Roberta Button of North Chili, NY; sons, Robert (Vicki) Houpt of Greenville, SC and Charles (Lisa) Houpt of St. Cloud, FL; brother, Charles Traw of Batesville, AR; grandchildren, Kathleen Button, Thomas Button, Shelby (Scott) Venters, Chelsey (Hunter) White, Micahlyn Houpt, and Adrienne Houpt; great-grandsons, Emmett and Cameron; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Sandra Houpt of Caton. Annette was predeceased by her siblings, Betty, Cecil “Floyd”, and Warren. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 15th from 10:00 AM until Noon at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Caton. Memorial donations may be made in Annette’s name to the American Diabetes Association, Syracuse NY Office, 6390 Fly Road, 2nd Floor, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
