Obituary of Earl Jacobi Earl G. Jacobi, 95 years, of Painted Post, NY passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Corning Hospital. He was born on April 4, 1923 in Amherst, NY, the son of the late George and the late Rosa (Lorenz) Jacobi. Earl was a graduate of Williamsville High School.

He married Barbara J. Ruggles on December 30, 1950 in Williamsville, NY. She predeceased him on October 8, 2015 after 64 years of marriage. He was employed by the Amherst Highway Department for almost 30 years before his retirement.

In his free time, Earl will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing and spending time on Lamoka Lake – taking many fishing trips with his family. He grew up on a family farm in Amherst and always enjoyed telling stories about his time on the farm. His greatest joy in life was his family.

He enjoyed time spent with his children, grandchildren, and siblings. Earl was survived by his daughters: Sharon Jacobi of Painted Post, NY, Sheryl Swett of Painted Post, NY; grandchildren: Melyssa (Andrew) Lindstrand of Big Flats, NY; Allyson (Derrek) St. John of Painted Post, NY; sister, Pearl Kibler of Tonawanda, NY; sisters-in-law: Marjorie Simpson of Campbell, NY; Kay Ruggles of Corning, NY, Dale Ruggles of Savona, NY; brothers-in-law, James (Shirley) Ruggles of West Virginia, Gerald Abbey of Corning, NY; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Earl was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Caroline (Robert) Edwards; brothers and sisters-in-law: Harvey Kibler, Frank Ruggles, Ron Ruggles, Shirley (Jim) Kuttner, Elaine Radka, Gale Abbey, Thomas Ruggles and Skip Simpson.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in the family plot in Hope Cemetery, Corning, NY.
